My Story: Why I Do What I Do

At Monaco Financial Solutions, my mission is simple: to help business owners, fprofessionals, and families, build financial foundations that protect them today and empower them tomorrow — with clarity, compassion, and confidence

I was introduced to the true value of insurance at a very young age — not by choice, but through life’s difficult circumstances. As a first-generation Canadian, my family knew little about finance or insurance. When my father passed away after a long battle with cancer, we were left in with liitle financial guidance or safety net — except one: the group insurance policy through his employer.That cheque saved our lives. My mother, left alone with two young children, with limited language skills, was able to provide us with just enough stability to survive and rebuild. I remember thinking — even as a child — that the very first thing I would do as I had a job was purchase my own life insurance. And I did.

Nearly 30 years,during the COVID-19 pandemic, I found myself in another crisis: a single mother with a business shut down overnight, my investments down 35%, and uncertainlt everywhere. When the bank turned me away, it was my life insurance policy- the one I had bought at 18 years old - that became my lifeline. Through it, I accessed liquidity when I needed it most, no questions asked.

That moment shifted my world: I made a promise to myself to never be that vulnerable again and would dedicate my career to helping others realize how vulnerable we can all be — and how powerful we can become when we plan ahead.

Insurance isn’t just about protecting against the unknown. It’s about creating options. It’s about empowerment, security, and freedom — during life’s hardest moments, and also as a smart strategy for building, preserving, and transferring wealth.
