About

For over 15 years, I have been helping Clients with their financial needs. I’m the CEO of HJB Financial Services Inc. and I’m proud of the team I’ve built.

I hold the Certified Health Insurance Specialist and Elder Planning Counselor designations. These designations give me a unique skillset to help the Clients we work with.

When I’m not working, I enjoy lending a helping hand where needed. You’ll often find me hunting, fishing or just spending time in the great outdoors. 

As an Advisor, I’m dedicated to working with Clients to help with their financial planning needs. I’m proud to hold the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and Elder Planning Counselor designations. It makes me happy to provide solutions to Clients’ unique situations.

Outside of work, my family is my world. I love spending time with my wife and our three children. I really enjoy watching and helping them grow and mature. I also enjoy spending all five weeks of Alberta summers in the garden, getting my hands dirty and watching my plants grow.

As an associate advisor, I am dedicated to helping people protect themselves and their business from the unknown. As an empathetic person, I really love my job and find it very fulfilling.

Before working for Sun Life, I worked as a construction and iron worker, and to fill the long winter months, spent some time in the bush logging. I know what hard work and long hours are like, and how much your hard-earned money means to you, your family and your business.

I am an outdoor enthusiast, spending a lot my spare time walking in the bush looking for shed antlers in the spring, fishing in the summer and hunting in the fall. As a father I enjoy family time and teaching my children about our faith.

In my role, I assist Clients and advisors with administrative tasks. This includes organizing insurance paperwork, managing inquiries, scheduling Clients, prepping advisors for their meetings and monitoring the underwriting process. I enjoy interacting with people and creating a positive experience. Since joining the team in 2020, I have learned a lot and gained a lot of experience.

As a mom, I enjoy watching my daughter train in competitive gymnastics. In my free time, I spend time outdoors in the summer in the backyard, camping, and playing slow pitch. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends. 

As an Advisor Assistant in the office, my role is to take care of the tasks that follow Client meetings, which include creating accounts, initiating trades and transfers, processing purchases and redemptions, connecting with the Clients during these processes, and assisting the advisors in any way I can.  

In my own time, I love online shopping, baking and travelling to new places all over the world. I spent six months touring New Zealand and a summer exploring nine countries in Europe with my friends. My family means a lot to me and our time together is always fun, especially highlight vacations during the Alberta winters to some warm states and islands.

As an Advisor Assistant, I work with Clients to schedule appointments and address administrative work on their accounts. I am often the first point of contact. It is great to get to know each Client and understand their needs. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge and explaining to Clients the importance of protecting their families and estates.

I started my career in the financial industry in 2007. I have several years of experience in the mortgage, real estate and financial industry. I’ve been assisting Sun Life advisors since 2013 and joined the HJB Financial Services Inc Team in July 2023.

Outside of work you can find me working out at the gym in some kickboxing classes and cheering my son on at his basketball games. My son and I are avid travelers. We go on cruises and take in the sights at Disney and Universal as often as we can. We are also big Kansas Chiefs fans and love football season.
