During this session, you will learn:

• The importance of having a financial plan 

• The impacts of a non-controllable event such as COVID-19

A Financial plan is based on the financial pyramid. There are many components to help us to reach our financial goals to keep our focus on our main objectives.

• Here are the elements you have to consider in developing a financial roadmap, in the form of a pyramid...all built on a solid base with a good financial roadmap

• Please address the bottom items of the pyramid before moving to the top of the pyramid. This ensures you have a strong base.

• Some events you control, but there are others over which you have no control (e.g. dying prematurely, suffering a critical illness, etc.)

• Controllable events are those like investing in RRSPs, buying a home, reducing debt, putting aside emergency cash, education savings
