Shawn and his wife, Robin, have lived in Brandon, Manitoba since 1989. Their love of the city and surrounding area prompted Shawn to leave a 17-year career in the Agricultural Industry. Moving into the financial services industry in 2001 allowed Shawn the opportunity to work one on one with Clients. Now he’s able to help provide solutions to their financial needs. Interacting with people and giving back to the community has always been important to him. You will find Shawn involved in many sports related events or activities in the Brandon area. The construction of the Simplot Millennium Ball Park, numerous major curling events, baseball, curling and golf boards, and Curl Manitoba committees are just a few areas that Shawn has shared his time and experience.

Shawn and Robin have raised three children here and have just moved into the more fun stage of parenthood. They are now enjoying the pleasures of their four young grandchildren. 

The ability to help Clients plan, grow and reach their future goals is inspiring for Shawn. The opportunity to help provide solutions to protect those goals is gratifying. His holistic approach builds Client’s confidence. They know that by working with us they can have a greater success in reaching their goals.  

Shawna started her career 28 years ago with Mutual Life of Canada after receiving a Business Degree from Brandon University. She worked on her own for about 10 years until Taylor Jackson Financial Services formed. In 2004, she received my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation. Over the years, she has loved building relationships and working with Clients to plan for their futures.

She and her husband Clay have two children, Colby and Riley. They also have a cockapoo named Archie. They live on an acreage just outside of Brandon and have a cabin at Oak Lake Beach as well. Her hobbies include reading, sports, spending time at the lake and boating.

Jon has lived in Brandon since 1999. He moved here after growing up in Virden and spending time in Winnipeg studying business at Red River College. Before joining Sun Life, Jon spent 20 years in management at a local car dealership. In 2019, Jon joined Sun Life as an Advisor after earning his Life Insurance license. Very soon after he received his license with the Mutual Fund Dealers Association. To provide more value to Clients, Jon received his QUALIFIED ASSOCIATE FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation from FP Canada. In his spare time, you’ll often find him watching his kids playing sports.

Carolyn grew up in Thompson, Manitoba. This is where she graduated from Keewatin Community College with an Honors in Computerized Business. Once her husband retired from the mine, Carolyn and Danny moved to Brandon and she began working with Taylor Jackson Financial. With over 24 years of experience in the finance industry, Carolyn provides exceptional customer service. She is knowledgeable in all Sun Life products and services.

Carolyn and Danny have a daughter, Amber, and two bunnies, Waffles and Luna. When she’s not at work you can find her cooking or enjoying time outside.

Samantha grew up in Portage La Prairie and Gladstone. Later she went to university in Brandon. This is where she graduated with a Major in Business Administration and a Minor in Economics. Prior to joining the team, Samantha worked for the Brandon Chamber of Commerce. This is where she discovered her passion and the importance of the Brandon business community.

Samantha joined our team in 2021 as an Advisor Assistant and enjoys assisting Clients in any way possible.

Samantha, and her wife, Megan, bought their first home in recent years and keep busy with their two dogs Harper, and Payton. Outside of work, you’ll find her playing with the dogs, spending time outside, gardening or watching Netflix.

Robin started working for Shawn in 2017 as an assistant. She works primarily on the group benefits side of the business. She brings great customer service skills after being in the direct sales fashion industry for 26 years. Over that period, she excelled in sales, sponsoring and coaching others in the business to become their best. Those people skills have leant well in working with business owners, employees and other customer service contacts as well.

Robin and Shawn have three grown children, and four young grandchildren. When she’s not working, you’ll find her spending quality time with the grandkids and enjoying weekends at the lake.
