Client testimonials
"I have had the pleasure of working with Alyssa since January 2014 when she helped coordinate an RRSP purchase while I was temporarily working in Northern Uganda, not the easiest feat. In October of 2014 I met my husband Eric who was so impressed with Alyssa that he transferred all of his accounts to her to manage. We did not think about changing advisors when we left Vancouver - Alyssa was too good to give up! We are confident that Alyssa's expertise and attention to detail have helped our assets grow over the past few years. Her strategies are helping us to meet our financial goals and we value her honesty and professionalism." - Allison K. and Eric D. - Professional couple
" I have known Alyssa for many years now. Alyssa introduced herself to our company, Kirkpatrick Auto & Fleet Repair Ltd. many years ago. She assisted us with setting up the best benefit plan possible with competitive pricing and made sure we understood the ins and outs of the program. Alyssa has always been professional and explained everything to us in great detail. She makes sure every year that our renewals come in at a competitive rate, and if we are not satisfied she is sure to shop around for what suits us as a company. Alyssa has a very professional and friendly demeanor, and she is very knowledgeable. She has also since set us up with life insurances for our families and once again, makes sure they are affordable and fitting for our circumstances. We have always enjoyed Alyssa popping into our business to say hi, and make sure we are satisfied with what we are currently set up with and is happy to assist us in any changes or give us advice in regards to her services. I highly recommend Alyssa if one is looking to purchase life insurance, company benefits and so much more." - Shanda D. - Business Owner
"I have been a client of Alyssa for six years and would highly recommend her services. Alyssa has played an integral role in building my personal financial well-being. She always meets with me to review my portfolio, making suggestions on any improvements, and provides any answers I may have. Alyssa always stays up to date with the latest market trends and puts my interests first. I have been more than happy with the results she has provided me. Her integrity, professionalism, and knowledge are invaluable." - Wally L. - Professional

A good place to start is to figure out how much life insurance you may need… how long you need it for… and what kind might be right for you. Let’s look at an example: Jackie is 33 years old… and has two kids. She has four goals for her life insurance: Leave money to her family to pay off her mortgage. Top up her kids’ registered education savings plans. Pay off her student loans. And, replace her income for 10 years. Based on these goals, Jackie is looking at a 1-million-dollar life insurance policy. If she died, her family could choose to use the insurance payout to: Put 300-thousand dollars toward the mortgage. Add 60-thousand dollars to the kids’ RESPs. Pay off her 40-thousand-dollar student loan. And… cover the family’s ongoing costs with the remaining 600-thousand dollars. How much do life insurance payments cost per month? In Jackie’s case, a 1-million-dollar, 30-year term policy for a non-smoking, 33-year-old woman… could cost about 80-dollars per month. For a man of the same age, it’s closer to 110-dollars per month. How long do you need your coverage to last? For a younger person… or a couple with debt and a mortgage, a 30-year policy or longer may be suitable. For someone in their forties… with little debt and a small mortgage… a 20-year policy might be the right fit. What are your options? Your employer may offer life insurance through your employee benefits. But… it may not be enough. And you can lose that coverage if you change employers. You may want to consider more life insurance. In which case, you have two types to choose from: Term life insurance. And… permanent life insurance. Any amount of life insurance can help give your loved ones some financial security when you die. Your unique situation will inform the amount and type of insurance you need. For more tips and tools, visit sunlife.ca.
