Darcy grew up near Maple Creek, Saskatchewan on a farm. He learned good work ethic and the importance of a sound financial plan at a young age. He understands how imperative it is to protect yourself and your family from the unexpected.

Darcy became a Sun Life Financial advisor in 2010 and started his business in Calgary. In September 2012, he relocated his business to Medicine Hat. This is where he established what we now know as a thriving financial practice, DLF Financial Services Inc. With his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation, Darcy focuses on retirement, tax, estate and succession planning for individuals and businesses.

He is married to Linnette. They are both adventurers in travelling the globe while photographing their experiences. Darcy is an avid mountain biker which he enjoys doing with Linnette and he also enjoys golfing. During their free time in the summer, they like to invest in their nieces and nephews by taking them on excursions. A strong sense of family values and community spirit is at the heart of Darcy’s personality. 

My journey in finance began at Medicine Hat College. Here, I earned my diploma in Finance and later pursued a Bachelor of Management with a major in Marketing at the University of Lethbridge. Armed with this solid foundation, I embarked on a successful career in the financial industry. I enjoy working with Clients and seeing them feel confident in their futures. 

Beyond my professional life, I cherish spending quality time with my girlfriend, nephews and loyal dog. For the past three years, I have also coached football. My upbringing in this tight-knit city instilled a deep sense of belonging. I am committed to community building and contributing to my hometown's growth and prosperity.

I love Medicine Hat; my entire life is in this city. I began my education at the Medicine Hat College, where I obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration through Mount Royal University. Immediately after completion of my degree, I entered the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) program.

Throughout my studies and after designating, I worked full-time as a public accountant. This gave me exposure to diverse corporate and personal tax scenarios. Moving to DLF has been an opportunity to apply the knowledge I’ve accumulated in a way that benefits others; integrating tax and investment experience into estate and wealth planning helps ensure that Clients receive a comprehensive financial strategy.

The move from public accounting has also allowed me to allocate more time to what’s important to me – my family. Most of my free time is spent with my wife and daughter, along with our German Shepherd. The remainder is spent tackling the never-ending “honey do” list!
