From personal experience, I’ve seen the effects of poor planning versus proper planning. That’s why, I’m devoted to helping others create a solid plan that will be helpful in times of uncertainty. Prior to becoming an advisor, I spent the first 10 years of my career working in radio and television. Because of this experience, I now work with many Clients from that industry.

When I’m not working, I like to get involved with my community. I’ve emceed several events such as the Port Elgin Pumpkinfest and the Owen Sound Attack OHL games.

I’ve been happily married to Robin Woods of 97.9 the Bruce for 35 years. We have two sons, and two amazing grandchildren. Family means everything to me. 

I made a transition to the financial planning industry to help people. I worked as a civil engineer for the first 12 years of my career. We’d help small communities create a master plan for their various systems. Using that master plan, we’d then improve specific areas or systems that required upgrading or replacement.

Creating a financial plan with Clients is very similar. I help Clients put together a financial plan that provides a summary of their current situation. It outlines what they may expect decades later if they continue the same path. Financial planning provides Clients an opportunity to better manage risk, build their net worth and keep more of their wealth within their family.

Outside of work, I enjoy photography, playing music with friends, swimming in Lake Huron and spending time with family. I’m happily married to my wife Linda, and we are raising two daughters. Most weekends you’ll find me grilling on our deck or walking downtown and enjoying the local summer festivals. I’m also a proud member of the Kincardine Rotary Club where we raise funds for local and international projects. Our projects intend to improve the health and well being of the community.
