After staying home to raise my daughters, I decided to re-enter the workforce by pursuing a career in finance, as helping people plan for the future felt like a natural fit for my personality. I completed a life Insurance course before exploring job opportunities and, once certified, approached my Sun Life advisor for employment. My favourite part of this job is working with Clients to create financial plans for their future and helping them achieve their goals. I hold the designations of Qualified Associate Financial Planner and Certified Health Insurance Specialist.

I love Golden for its small-town feel and easy access to hiking, world-class golf and skiing. I grew up on a cattle ranch in Alberta and moved to Golden in 2009 to raise our family and live where we loved to holiday. Outside of work, I am passionate about spending time with my husband, Jeff, and our adult daughters, Cydnee and Samantha. Jeff and Sam work on the family ranch in Coronation, Alberta, and I enjoy spending my downtime there as well—working cattle on my horse is my favourite jobs on the ranch. My dream getaway is Skoki Lodge in the fall, when the larch trees turn a brilliant yellow.

There is no easy way to answer when asked where I’m from, having lived in Canada, the US, France and the UK by the time I turned 18. I returned home to Canada to complete my undergrad degree in Ontario then headed west to live in Golden for two years, but that was almost twenty years ago now! The gravitational pull of this small mountain town kept me in one place long enough to buy a house, get married and land a steady job in finance; not sure anyone saw that coming, me included. The landscapes, people and communities that surround us are ideal conditions for living a life I’d only dreamed of, while helping Clients create and achieve their own.

I began my career in insurance in 2012, becoming licensed to sell ICBC insurance and working in driver licensing, which led me to pursue personal insurance and complete my CAIB Level 1. In 2014, I transitioned to a local financial institution, where I spent nine years in various branch roles and eventually began opening accounts and assisting members with their investment needs. After welcoming my two daughters and seeking greater flexibility and work–life balance, I joined Mountain Life Financial in 2023. I am currently life licensed and am working toward completing my mutual funds license. My favourite part of my role is helping individuals identify the right insurance solutions to help meet their needs, budgets and goals—whether for personal protection, corporate planning or estate planning—so they can better protect themselves and their loved ones.

I love Golden because it is where both my husband and I were born and raised, where our families are, and where we began raising our own family. Outside of work, my greatest passion is my family, and I feel incredibly grateful to be raising our children in the same close-knit community we grew up in. My dream vacation would be exploring the countryside of Scotland, where my family originated.

I moved to the Golden area in 1997 and began working with Sun Life in 2015. I’m proud to be a founding partner of Mountain Life Financial and the team we have built. I hold my mutual fund license, and bring experience shaped by working in, and operating small businesses in the Columbia Valley. I love the area, and I appreciate my surroundings every day. I feel lucky to drive along the wetlands to work, often seeing otters, swans, elk and other wildlife. Outside of work, I love being a mother to my amazing kids, spending time with my husband, riding my horses, baking and walking my dogs. While I would love to travel to Australia one day, having lived in 4 provinces, I’m also excited to explore more of Canada first.  

After moving to Golden in 2013, my husband and I were looking for a change, and I decided to step away from the hectic and unpredictable schedule of working as a substitute teacher. A part-time teller position at the local credit union caught my attention, and that opportunity became my entry into the finance industry. My favourite part of my job is getting to know our Clients and building meaningful connections. I am currently working toward obtaining my mutual funds license.

I love Golden for the ever-changing natural beauty of all four seasons. I grew up in Osoyoos, lived in Victoria while attending university and spent time in Oyama and Vernon while teaching. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, cooking, baking, reading, walking, doing puzzles and gardening. Although I am a small-town girl at heart, I love travelling to mega-cities, with Tokyo, Mexico City and New York City being my favourite destinations so far. 

Not long after arriving in Golden, I was offered a position with a local financial institution, beginning my journey in the finance industry. As life evolved and our three children grew and spread their wings, joining Mountain Life Financial felt like a wonderful way to continue that journey. My favourite part of my role is helping our Clients, while also supporting Kisa and Jocelyn with their workload.

I love Golden for its breathtaking mountain scenery—while driving through town in 2020 on my way home from Assiniboine Provincial Park, I remember thinking how incredibly beautiful the mountains were and that I could live here, and just six months later Golden became our home. Prior to that, my husband and I lived in Oyama, BC, the jewel of the Okanagan, where we began raising our family in 2005. Outside of work, I’m passionate about nature photography, skiing, mountain biking, swimming and relaxing at Okanagan lakes, going on nature walks, bird watching, reading—especially books about Arctic exploration and wartime fiction—camping, and cooking meals for my family, preferably outdoors. My travel dreams include surfing in Costa Rica and exploring the natural beauty of Haida Gwaii.
