For over 15 years, I have been helping Clients with their financial needs. I’m the CEO of HJB Financial Services Inc. and I’m proud of the team I’ve built.

I hold the Certified Health Insurance Specialist and Elder Planning Counselor designations. These designations give me a unique skillset to help the Clients we work with.

When I’m not working, I enjoy lending a helping hand where needed. You’ll often find me hunting, fishing or just spending time in the great outdoors. 

As an Advisor, I’m dedicated to working with Clients to help with their financial planning needs. I’m proud to hold the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and Elder Planning Counselor designations. It makes me happy to provide solutions to Clients’ unique situations.

Outside of work, my family is my world. I love spending time with my wife and our three children. I really enjoy watching and helping them grow and mature. I also enjoy spending all five weeks of Alberta summers in the garden, getting my hands dirty and watching my plants grow.

As an associate advisor, I am dedicated to helping people protect themselves and their business from the unknown. As an empathetic person, I really love my job and find it very fulfilling.

Before working for Sun Life, I worked as a construction and iron worker, and to fill the long winter months, spent some time in the bush logging. I know what hard work and long hours are like, and how much your hard-earned money means to you, your family and your business.

I am an outdoor enthusiast, spending a lot my spare time walking in the bush looking for shed antlers in the spring, fishing in the summer and hunting in the fall. As a father I enjoy family time and teaching my children about our faith.

As an associate advisor with over 10 years of experience in financial services, I enjoy simplifying complex financial needs into clear, personalized and actionable strategies. My appreciation for financial literacy drives me to empower Clients, helping them achieve their goals with confidence. My focus is on building trust and lasting relationships through clear communication and tailored solutions. 

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, outdoor adventures and playing ball with my pup. 

In my role, I assist Clients and advisors with administrative tasks. This includes organizing insurance paperwork, managing inquiries, scheduling Clients, prepping advisors for their meetings and monitoring the underwriting process. I enjoy interacting with people and creating a positive experience. Since joining the team in 2020, I have learned a lot and gained a lot of experience.

As a mom, I enjoy watching my daughter train in competitive gymnastics. In my free time, I spend time outdoors in the summer in the backyard, camping, and playing slow pitch. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends. 

As a service associate, I work directly with the advisors to perform a variety of Client services, such as paperwork and scheduling appointments. I enjoy getting to know our Clients personally, using my knowledge to help them with all of their insurance and financial questions. 

I have been with SteadyHelm Financial Solutions for 10 years now. 

Outside of the office I spend all my free time with my family. I am currently blessed with my husband, step-son and new twin daughters. Our house seems to be always busy, whether it’s working on our acreage, camping or hanging out with family and friends. 

Hi, my name is Katrina Barendregt and I have been part of this team from the beginning but always in the background working from home. I have enjoyed being part of the growth of the business with the many changes that we have seen in the last 16 years. We have gone through many seasons during this time and now with a new name and updated office, I look forward to what the future holds for SteadyHelm Financial Services Inc.
