Prior to my introduction in the financial servicing world in 1997, I received two bachelor’s degrees. It was at this time, my love for helping people became apparent and took me on the path of helping my community with their money and financial literacy. To further enhance my capability, in 1999 – 2020 I became accredited with my MF – Mutual Finds, QAFP – Qualified Associate Financial Planner and EPC – Elder Planning Counselor. During this time I also made the best decision on my career in 2011 when I joined Sun Life.
I have been happily married since 1996 to my beloved wife Ruth Banks.
My free time is filled with volunteering, landscaping, watching movies such as Star Wars and spending time with my family.

Ruth Banks
After working several years in the restaurant industry and healthcare industry, I found myself employment within the banking industry. Where I worked with RBC, First Calgary, and ATB Financial in a variety of different roles.
After eight years with ATB Financial, I joined Ben in April 2015 to assist and guide his growing practice. In 2023, I had the opportunity to enhance my Client capacity by taking on the role of an associate advisor. This role has opened new doors and I can directly assist Clients with their financial and investment needs.
I am currently working on increasing my knowledge within my role to further my ability to assist Clients. When I am not working or studying I enjoy spending my days reading, cooking and gardening.

I have been in the Client servicing industry since 2016. I’m constantly striving to treat Clients with respect and get them the care they deserve.
Joining Ben’s team in May 2022 was based on my desire to expand my knowledge and help Clients prepare and focus on what matters most. My favorite part of the day is the opportunity to talk with Clients and community. Problem solving and catching up calms down for a short while will always be the #1 thing to put a smile on my face.
I love art and I spend most of my free time drawing, going on photography adventures, gardening or playing video games.
